Great Wall

Arches National Park

The Great Wall is a drive-by panorama of sandstone cliffs displaying the effects of millions of years of erosion and weathering.

Located on the northern end of the Great Wall area is the ever photogenic Balanced Rock. Until recently, Balanced Rock had a companion - a similar, but much smaller balanced rock named "Chip off the Old Block", which fell during the winter of 1975/1976.

The largest arch in this area is Little Gothic Arch which can be spotted from the main park road.
